I want to be more than a reseller
It's been far too many months where I've done nothing but sell at a stable rate. It's still great. I really enjoy turning trash into treasure and saving more plastic from the landfill. But I want to be more than a reseller. I don't knock that reselling is a living, I just don't want to hustle my time away. I don't want to make YouTube videos. I don't want to elbow out the vultures that camp out at some thrift stores. I have ideas for branching out and I need to follow them.
All things being considered - reselling is the foundation and this month we sold things.
Let's check it out.

Auction for WizKids
Every once in a while I find myself with a bunch of toys and zero clue how to price them. That's what happened this month with the WizKids Mage Knight figures. Don't ask me what they are because I still don't know. But I had 50, so I threw them up on eBay, starting at $3 and it bumped all the way to $45.62 within a week. Problem solved.
No such thing as e-waste
My brother works for a company with a big budget and no easy way of recycling their electronics. Often, things are bought to be used once and then no one cares where it goes. They just need it gone. That's where we come in. My brother provided me with a number of still sealed electronics this month and quite a few went fast. That's the reason for the solid boost to the total between last month and this month. I'm always happy to save something from the landfill and make a buyer's day.
Fails
Register a business
I still haven't registered Flipshark as a full-fledged LLC business. I think I'm just overwhelmed at the thought of it but I know deep down plenty of idiots start official businesses every day. I just need to get it done. Period.
Going forward
I have a vision. It's a bit blurry but I'm ready to move forward regardless.
I need to burn the old inventory. I have so much that's been sitting for years and it's far too easy to keep myself occupied with buying more. How do we fix this? I have a few ideas:
End and re-list eBay items
Edit eBay prices down
Try listing more on Facebook Marketplace
Try listing on Mercari
Garage sale
Whatnot?
With inventory dwindling, I can make some more space and time to do more than reselling. I want to begin my upcycling adventures. What does that include? It's two-fold. One, I want to build up a email newsletter audience, offering tips on what to buy and sell. Two, I want to start making use of toys that are too cheap or broken to sell. I have lots of inspirations but no need to list them all here. I just need to get started and see what happens.
Let's see what next month holds.
